Tommy Dale

Trustee and Founder

Tommy is a trustee and co-founder of Balanced Horizon, hailing from an East Lothian farming family who have farmed Auldhame by Seacliff Beach, North Berwick, for nearly two hundred years.

Since leaving agricultural college in 2002 to start a fledgling composting business, he has led a team who have built up Forth Resource Management to run ten compost and biomass sites across Scotland and develop the Caledonian Horticulture brand of peat free gardening products.

As a dedicated picker of litter on both land and shore who is passionate about nature conservation, environmental restoration and sustainable food production as well as being a strong believer in action speaking louder than words Tommy is committed to helping Balanced Horizon become a positive force for both environmental and social good over the years ahead.
